Might as well, I have the day off. The wife and kids are at her moms, so I get some peace and quiet. Started a little side job today, and am now free to fish.
It was 93, but when I just checked it dropped to 86. Outflow of a small thunderstorm cooled it off right quick. Except where I am going, is nowhere near that storm. Its still gonna be hotter than a 3 balled tom cat. (thanks Tennmike for that saying)
I hope to find a little shade, but I doubt it. Im taking the yak to the lake, and fishing next to some bridge piers. The way it runs, I will more than likely be in the sun. Yuk.
Oh well, the last time I fished there was about this time of year, and I did pretty good.
Good luck Chris, I dont have time to fish when I am off, I do that stuff at work! :roflmao:
Good luck. The lakes down here are back up to decent levels now. Might have to try a bit of night time fishing soon.

You are lucky. 102 today, and supposed to be 104 tomorrow.

Yall keep that down south.
Hope you had a good day, Chris. Last time I went fishing was on my in-laws' farm; they had a pond a little over an acre, with a bunch of hungry spot and a few fat bass that never wanted to cooperate.
They sold it about ten years ago, and my rods have ben gathering dust in the basement ever since..........

I had a change of plans. Rather than drive an hour plus to get sunburned, Im going to another spot that is only about 20 muntes away. And there is some shade there also. Plus, the other lake I was going to is BAD for wind. And being in a kayak on a big lake when its windy aint my idea of fun.
Well step away from the puter and get fishing.

Waiting for traffic to die down. At certain times of the day, you are better off to wait 30 minutes for traffic to die down. I can leave now, or at 530, and still be there at 6. Plus, Ive been collecting Japanese beetles for bait. I have no idea if they will work, but they are free and pleniful.
Sounds like a great day to fish. You Suck!
93 degrees? Man your burnin up!
We have a little cool front here today; it's down to 99. We have enjoyed 100+ days for a good spell now and no rain.
Uzi does it.
No rain forecasted for here for a awhile.
How did the Japanese Beetles work? Hope you drowned a bucket of them

What do you do when you think no one is watching?
Not worth a crap. I had one nibble, but that was it. They were itty bitty ones. I need to let them get big enough to tie some thread on their legs and let the kids fly them. Yes, it works. Poormans RC airplane.
I caught a few fish, mainly on nightcrawlers. Nothing of any size. The ramp I put in closes at dark, so I had to leave about 830. Just when the fish were starting to hit on the top of the water. :bang: I would love to fish that part of the lake more, but its a LONNNNNNNNNG paddle in a kayak to the ramp that is open 24-7.
My son and I went fishing Tuesday night as well. Working a small lake from the kayaks. I was absolutely killing with a fly rod and a frog popper. He wasn't doing diddly with a spinning rig and a rapala, so I gave him my popper, put a different one on, and between us we boated FIFTY fish in a couple of hours, including half a dozen legal walleyes and a couple of legal largemouths. MUCHO enjoyment.

Walleyes! Man! you lucky dog you. I have caught one Walleye on Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri about 25 years ago. It was undoubtedly one of the best fish I ever ate. And it fought like a whale (Whatever that's like).

Yep, walleyes. I especially enjoy boating a legal one with my 4/5 FLY ROD, and a #3 leader. That big, floppy rod and thin line makes for a delicate balancing act, threading a needle's eye between "spit the hook" and "broke the line"

Gonna be 105 today. Gonna have to mow the yard in it.

Yeah, NOW you tell me. Where were you on tuesday whilst I was collecting them?
I was recovering from a 750 mile 11 1/2 hour drive from Cape Coral on Monday! Took an hour and a half to traverse Atlanta S to N; I could solve the traffic problem on I-75 through Atlanta. The exits would remain, but the onramps would be blocked with 10 ft. high x 10 ft. thick walls at the top.

Took a trip to the creek today, did not fish; however, it looked like one could walk on the rays. They in something fierce, never seen so many.

Sounds like a bowfishing opportunity if I ever heard one.
Their skins make nice home tanned leather, and the meat is pretty tasty, too. They are the debil to skin out and fillet, though!
